Our celebrated Playwrought programme champions new writing and supports emerging talent. Over the course of a year, we select twelve scripts from a series of monthly Script Submission Windows.
All submitted scripts will be read by a member of Arcola staff, and one script each month are selected to receive:
- Pairing with a director and cast
- R&D space for one day, followed by a reading at Arcola
Playwrought is interested in developing unique voices and it’s previous plays include Clarion by Mark Jagasia, Combustion by Asif Khan, Scenes from 68* Years by Hannah Khalil, and Love, Bombs, and Apples by Hassan Abdulrazzak – all of which went on to have their premier at Arcola Theatre.
