Scab

Written by Luke Stapleton

Directed Jamie Biddle

“I look at the barman. And I look at Keith. And I see a piece of him die inside. And I feel a piece of me die with him.”

In the heart of northern England, an old man falls bleeding to the kerb outside his local pub. At the same time, a disenfranchised young man clocks off from the graveyard shift. What starts off as a chance encounter between two dilapidated souls transcends into something much deeper…

Come and join the bereft and devious young wandererplayed by Conor Lowson (Small Axe) as he burrows ever further into the murky recesses of a forgotten mind.

Having been salvaged from the ‘lost week’ at VAULT festival 2020, Scab is a visceral and comedic commentary on social responsibility that finally makes its world premiere at Arcola.
