Arcola’s Studio 2 Summer Season 2019

Arcola Theatre has announced its Studio 2 Summer Season with three new plays being performed in the theatre’s 100 seat studio.

  • SITTING by Katherine Parkinson, directed by Sarah Bedi
  • HOARD by Bim Adewunmi, directed by Femi Elufowoju jr.
  • RADIO by Al Smith, directed by Josh Roche

Arcola’s Artistic Director, Mehmet Ergen said “Arcola’s Studio 2 is our powerhouse of new writing, telling new stories, exploring new frontiers. SITTING and HOARD are two debut plays from familiar and outstanding talents. These shows mark our first collaboration with the BBC and Avalon. We’re thrilled to be working with Katherine Parkinson to bring her wonderful play Sitting to London whilst Bim Adewunmi‘s Hoard continues Arcola’s commitment to British Nigerian stories. Hoard is directed by Femi Elufowoji jr (Winner of the Off West End Award for Best Director for The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives) whilst Sitting marks director Sarah Bedi‘s first production at Arcola. Al Smith‘s one-man play RADIO, directed by JMK Award-winner Josh Roche, commemorates 50 years since the moon landings; we’re delighted to host Audible for this production.”
