Arcola Creative Engagement

UnderCover

Created by the company

Directed by: Ross Crosby

The bedroom. One minute it’s a sanctuary, the next it’s a prison…

Following their acclaimed debut production Technically Speaking, Arcola Men’s Mental Health Group lift the covers on an urgent, uplifting new production.

Devised from real-life experiences, this powerful world premiere shows another side to men’s mental health, and reveals its impact on individuals and communities.

Come undercover on a journey that will shatter your preconceptions and challenge the stigma around men’s mental health.

Arcola Men’s Mental Health Group make new theatrical productions and experiences to explore the impact of mental health on our community. One in four of us will be affected by a mental health problem in any given year. Still, nine in ten people with a mental health problem experience discrimination as a result, and of all recorded suicides in 2013, 78% were committed by men. The Company challenges the stigma around mental health (especially among men) and provokes and inspires audiences to talk more openly about mental health and how we can work together to begin to change the tide.
