TOMBSTONE TALES and Boothill Ballads

Written and directed by CARL HEAP

Presented by beggarsbelief and Arcola Theatre
with local performers and artists

A docu-cabaret set in the Arizona deserts featuring strange but true stories unearthed from the most famous bone-yard of the Wild West.

Comic, tragic, genuine and bizarre, each story has its own deathly theatrical flavour drawn from the cryptic epitaphs grave markers at Boothill Cemetery in Tombstone, silver boom town of the 1880s:
“George Johnson, hanged by mistake”

“Lester Moore
Killed by four slugs from a .44
No Les
No More.”

Expect fireside yarns, bar-room brag, Appalachian clog-dancing, makeshift puppetry, glee-club harmonies, vaudeville turns, parlour games and melodramatic cowboy ballads!

Carl Heap reunites the celebrated creative team behind his previous Christmas hits Ben Hur and Jason and the Argonauts to continue Arcola’s rich tradition of alternative seasonal entertainment.

Leave your weapons at the door, and join the crowd at the bar!

Recommended age 12+
