THE BALLAD OF CRAZY PAOLA

By ARNE SIERENS
Translated by STEPHEN GREENHORN
Directed by NADIA LATIF

Presented by Tabula Rasa Theatre

If two dogs are stuck together,
Fucking each other,
You throw a bucket of water.
Someone had to separate us.
We were killing each other.
We were dead
.”

Paola’s son is learning to drum but the new tutor Raymond is no stranger to her past. He is the brother of her ex-lover, the famous and enigmatic Serge.

History is hampered by hindsight and memory used as a weapon as both Paola and Raymond struggle to assert their version of the past.

Rock ‘n’ roll legends and personal stories are assembled and shattered in this critically acclaimed translation of Arne Sieren’s burningly rhythmic and sharply witty play.
