Theatre Uncut first happened in London in 2011 as a response to the largest cuts to public spending since WWII. The project became much wider in its scope in 2012 and included short plays from the US, Syria, Greece and Iceland. Ala Turka will be performing 4 plays from this project written by UK’s leading playwrights addressing audiences who want to think about what the budget cuts really mean and who they are really hitting.

Theatre Uncut 2.

Theatre Uncut was created to get people thinking, talking and taking
action on what is happening in the world. Each year the company asks
writers from around the world to respond to the political situation in their
own country. These scripts are then made available through for anyone to perform
anywhere rights free during the annual Theatre mass action events. The
brand new 2013 plays will be previewed at the Traverse Theatre during
the Edinburgh Festival
