The Speculators is a razor-sharp, darkly funny modern adaptation of Aristophanes’ The Clouds, reimagined in the heart of Dalston. When two young gamblers, Phi and Dip, find themselves drowning in debt, their desperate mothers seek a way out—only to stumble upon the Thinkery, a shadowy institution promising wealth through wit and financial trickery. Will they beat the system, or will the system beat them?
Arcola 50+ Group is a space for East London’s residents aged 50+ to collectively explore theatre and performance. This is an amateur production as part of Arcola’s Participation Festival.
