Playwriting workshop with Lisa D’Amour

To coincide with the UK premiere of Anna Bella Eema, acclaimed US Playwright Lisa D’Amour will be leading a playwriting workshop at Arcola Theatre, addressing her own processes and utilising in-class exercises and writing games.

Lisa D’Amour is an award-winning US playwright (including winning the Steinberg Playwright Award) and New Dramatists alumnus. Her theatre credits include Detroit (National Theatre – which won the Obie Award for Best New American Play, was a finalist for both the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2011 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize), and Airline Highway (Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago/Samuel J. Friedman Theater – receiving a 2015 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Play).

Amongst other teaching positions, Lisa has taught at Brown University in the US where she was interim Director of MFA Playwriting, 2008-9, Visiting Professor 2009-10 and Fall Semester 2016.
