with extracts from LORCA´s work

Presented by Baraka Theatre Company

Baraka returns to the Arcola Theatre with the UK Premiere of their latest production. Bursting with colour, live music, physical theatre and dance Lorca Dreams is a poetic journey through the life and work of Federico Garcia Lorca. The play presents a collage of “Federicos,” in love with life and freedom, stirring emotions which live inside each and every one of us, as actors and people. Discover Lorca’s voice, the characters in his plays, his family and friends, most importantly the eccentric Salvador Dali.

The most moving play about the poet from Granada that I have seen in years.” Ian Gibson, Lorca´s biographer

In 2005 Amor de Don Perlimplín con Belisa en su Jardín, enjoyed a sell out run at the Arcola and five star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2006 Baraka´s Hace Federico participated in the Arcola Viva Lorca Festival and in 2007 the company joined forces with CASA Latin American Theatre Festival with a performed reading of the new play Fausto Angleró by Adhantaya. Last summer the company began creating its own work with Blue Berr´Hills, a site specific devised piece in an abandoned brothel in Paris. Baraka continues to promote international theatre enriching each performance with its experimental, intercultural, collective philosophy.
