Spending most of her career in Italy, Gencer was instrumental to the Donizetti Renaissance, starring in several of Donizetti’s forgotten operas. Her extraordinary career featured operatic performances of works by Monteverdi, Gluck, Mozart, Cherubini, Puccini, Prokofiev, Britten, Poulenc, Menotti, and Rocca.

Completed in 2018, Selçuk Metin’s documentary offers a rare glimpse into Gencer’s remarkable life.
