Happy Ending

Anat Gov

Directed by: Guy Retallack

“The question is how to be.”

Carrie Evans has cancer. A renowned theatre star, and not yet 50, she’s determined to cling on to life. But though she arrives at a London clinic expecting treatment, nothing can prepare her for the other patients on the ward. Their startling experiences give Carrie an unexpected, life-changing insight. Her decisions will rock the system…

Directed by WhatsOnStage-nominated Guy Retallack and starring Gillian Kirkpatrick (American Psycho at the Almeida, Chess at the Union), Karen Archer (As You Like It and Hamlet at the RSC) and Jodie Jacobs (Little Shop of Horrors, Fame and Rent in the West End), Happy Ending is a witty new musical about dying well. It takes a matter-of-fact and often humorous eye to the most difficult situation of all, adapted from the writer Anat Gov’s own experience of cancer.
