Two teenage girls seek asylum: One from Kosovo, the other from Margate

Hannah, 16, from Margate has acquired the parochial, small minded attitude of her environment. Like the teenagers that she knows, she is at war with the asylum seekers around her.

Hannah, 16, from Kosovo, along with her mother and brother, is seeking refuge from a land that is being ravaged. Placed in Margate, they are confronted by inhospitable hosts.

Hannah & Hannah is moving account of how conflict can be calmed by changes in experience and attitude.

“John Retallack’s canny two-hander couldn’t be more topical…this little scorcher gets right to the heart of the tensions that arise in depressed communities when refugees arrive…”
The Guardian
