“Love, Faith, Luck, Happiness. What can I do with my Happiness?”
What is happiness? Where can be it found? And how can it be kept?
Up-and-coming director Angeliki Petropetsioti’s atmospheric new work, inspired by Kurt Weill’s ‘Youkali’, follows a girl and a mysterious compere on their journey in search of happiness.
Star soprano Danae Eleni – whose previous work at Grimeborn includes La Bohème, Gariné and Così Fan Tutte – performs specially-chosen poems, speeches and songs, with haunting music played on the piano accordion.
After a sold-out first showing in the Andipa Gallery, Youkali: The Pursuit of Happiness transfers to Grimeborn for a special, one-off performance.
