“Killers, like the rich, are different.”
Writer Carole Hayman (Ladies of Letters, BBC Radio 4) and composer Harvey Brough (of Harvey and the Wallbangers) present a work-in-progress performance of The Hive, an unflinching new opera about psychopathic killers and the professionals who seek them out.
Inspired by Hayman’s research into the addictions and compulsions which lead to psychopathic behaviour, this ambitious and provocative work premieres at Grimeborn in a production by Bill Bankes-Jones, artistic director of Tête à Tête.
It marks the first collaboration between Arcola and Tête à Tête, whose own summer festival – like Grimeborn – champions new and experimental opera.
