VIEWPOINTS FOR PERFORMANCE – CONSENTING ADULTS

Viewpoints is a technique of training and improvisation that articulates the two dominant elements performers and directors deal with on stage – time and space. Viewpoints allows a group of actors to function together spontaneously and intuitively and to generate bold, theatrical work quickly. It develops flexibility, articulation, and strength in movement and makes ensemble playing really possible.

Developed for the theatre by New York director Anne Bogart and the SITI Company, Viewpoints allows performers and directors to function together spontaneously and intuitively and equips theatre makers with skills to generate dynamic work quickly.

This intensive workshop will immerse participants in the Viewpoints technique and provide an invaluable resource for performers and directors of all styles and experience. Viewpoints disrupt vocal and physical habits to bring freshness to engagement with text.

The workshop is led by Arcola theatre’s new Creative Engagement Facilitator Bec Martin.
