Having left her beloved grandfather’s farm to pursue her dream of a singing career in Cape Town, Veronica Jonkers returns home after his death. Despite carrying a painful secret and a heart filled with disappointment she strives to plant the seeds of a new life for her infant son. In this tale full of warmth, humour and energy, Fugard once again tells a story that finds hope in human relationships and in the power of the imagination.

Directed by Cordelia Monsey (Fugard’s Victory – Theatre Royal Bath, and Associate Director to Sir Peter Hall – Bedroom Farce and A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and featuring Cat Simmons (Been So Long – Young Vic, Casualty, The Bill), Nadim Sawalha (Syriana – Warner Brothers, All I Want Is A British Passport – Soho Theatre, Captain Abu Raed – Pen & Paper Films), and David Judge (The Bill and Hollyoaks), this UK premiere of another masterpiece by South Africa’s premiere playwright will run for four weeks only.
