A dance theatre performance.
A magical and poetically charged performance danced by The Love Spotters.
CATAPLASIA is a collection of solos and group dance woven together to create an inner world of subtle patterns and delicate changes. It creates an intimate and charged atmosphere where the audience can be actively engaged and surely mesmerised.
CATAPLASIA opens a window to the world of outsiders’ art and allows the audience to enter the pure and creative world of dancers with special needs.

Daniel Vais & The Love SpottersThe Love Spotters is a collective group of performers with apparently special needs and certainly with other magical talents.
The group has been founded by Daniel Vais during a mentoring programme with Daghdha Dance Company 2005/6.
The dancers are mainly from The Garvey Enterprise Centre, a day centre for people with special needs (Limerick). At the core of its work The Love Spotters focuses on dance, movement and live art, experimenting with different styles and forms.
Currently there are 10 core members in the group with mild to moderate disabilities (Down syndrome and other unspecified disabilities).
The works of The Love Spotters creates a window to outsider’s art and develop the term “outsiders’ dance”. One might argue that dance, as performed by The Love Spotters is a form of genuine dance, an expression of soul minus self-reflective mechanism known to many of us. The Love Spotters are in no way in need of sympathy or special credit. It is a common misconception that people with special needs are ‘not fully’ capable of certain tasks. That might be valid statement if one considers techniques of dance, such as ballet or codified contemporary dance. However this can only be disregarded when it comes to art and accessing emotional and physical qualities within oneself. One can only observe in awe the qualities brought out by The Love Spotters dancing bodies. The psychic places thoroughly unobtainable for the majority of humans can only wants us to learn from them.
The Love Spotters performed to full houses at Dublin Fringe Festival, Daghdha Space, INTERCHANGE festival, Frankfurt, Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, Gravity & Grace International Dance Festival, Cuisle, Limerick City International Poetry festival, Mamushka and will tour Ireland and Europe from April through out 2007. (Wexford, Ennis, Dublin, Clare, Omagh, Limerick, Cork, Frankfurt and London).
