Mark Thomas performed his critically-acclaimed show, Check-Up: Our NHS @ 70, at Arcola Theatre in October 2018.
Until Thursday 26 March 2020, you can watch it from your own home and support foodbanks. It’s pay what you can, with all proceeds going to the Trussell Trust.
★★★★ “A devastatingly thorough portrait of a system in crisis, shot through with unlikely humour” – Financial Times
★★★★ “Meticulously researched by Thomas, who spent time in GPs’ surgeries, operating theatres and interviewing policy-makers” – The Independent
★★★★ “Impassioned and informative look at where the NHS is at right now” – Time Out
★★★★ “Thomas builds a wonderful tragicomic journey around the NHS of today … perfectly balanced between laugh-a-minute entertainment and hard-edged political commentary” – The Scotsman
Arcola Theatre has suspended all public performances until further notice, in order to avoid contributing to the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). This means that the vast majority of our income is gone.
Almost one thousand people have so far contributed to Arcola’s urgent appeal, with an average donation of £20, to protect the theatre from the impacts of COVID-19. Every donation will make a difference as we chart a course through these uncertain times, without any income from shows or the bar.
