Arcola invites aspiring and emerging producers to hone their craft and build their knowledge. Looking to produce professional theatre? This course will equip participants with key skills and hot tips for success.

Each two hour session will provide guided lessons and exercises for producers, providing them with a supportive and dynamic environment in which to learn. The course will touch on all aspects of production: from budgeting to casting; to marketing and contracting.

This workshop is led by producer, playwright and comedian Rebecca Jones.

Rebecca Jones runs SLAM, a new writing theatre company that has produced over 300 productions since 2015: from live script development scratch nights twice a month to up to five full length runs a year of the shortlisted plays from each scratch. SLAM also read and provide feedback on over a hundred scripts a week; helping emerging companies to get their work off the ground. Rebecca is a big believer in DIY theatre and is armed with all the tools needed to self-produce work successfully. She has a masters in Dramatic Writing and has been developing scripts of her own through to production recurrently since the age of 15 (we won’t mention how long ago that was).
