Toy with toxic masculinity. Test your manhood. Try the trousers on for size. Arcola invites you to explore the world of drag king-ing,  helping you to create your own unique drag persona.

Each two hour session will provide an environment in which to test your ideas and try new skills – from lip synching to contouring. For anyone interested in exploring the performativity of gender on stage, Drag King Workshop provides a supportive and dynamic environment in which to learn.

This workshop is led by producer, performer and Arcola Participation Coordinator Rach Skyer.

Thursday 1st November – Thursday 13th December*

8pm – 10pm

*Please note that there will not be a class held on Thursday 30th November

Rach Skyer is a performer, theatre practitioner and producer for The Bareface Collective, Global Voices Theatre and SLAM King’s Cross. Having both trained and taught at The Poor School, their credits for stage include: Fine and Dandy (Arcola Theatre), The Strawman (National Youth Theatre), She Ventures and He Wins (The Rose Playhouse), Hamlet, Saint Joan, The Cherry Orchard (The Workhouse Theatre), Blasted (Tim Everett Productions), Blake’s Doors (The Revolving Shed), Nothing Like the Sun (Theatre Utopia), Her Body is a Minefield (White Bear Theatre), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Blunt Theatre Company).
