Arcola shortlisted for 4 Off West End awards
Arcola Theatre has received four nominations in the final shortlist for the 2018 Off West End Awards.
In the Best Director category, Arcola productions account for half of the nominees. Femi Elufowoju jr is a finalist for The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, our acclaimed stage version of Lola Shoneyin’s novel. And Arcola’s Associate Director Jack Gamble is a finalist for The Daughter-in-Law by D H Lawrence, which has transferred to Studio 1 and is now playing until 2 February.
Arcola’s seminal opera festival Grimeborn received a nomination, with Julia Burbach’s daring new staging of Britten’s The Rape Of Lucretia being shortlisted for Best Opera Production.
From Arcola’s Autumn season, Forgotten 遗忘 – Daniel York Loh’s new play about the Chinese Labour Corps who served in WWI – has also been shortlisted for Sound Design by Luke Swaffield.
