Homosexual Acts: a fundraising gala for Unfinished Histories

unnamed

Homosexual Acts borrows its title from the first Gay Theatre season in Britain, which was held at the Almost Free Theatre in 1975, and which launched Gay Sweatshop. It celebrates the plays that were part of the season through staged readings and talks by those who were there.

But it is also a fundraising event to support the continued work of Unfinished Histories. Join us for a lightning tour through work by Gay Sweatshop artists including Jill Posener, Noel Greig, Jackie Kay and others. The evening will close with a gig from lesbian feminist band Siren.

Speakers include: Simon Callow, Martin Sherman, Alan Wakeman, Alan Pope, Tasha Fairbanks and Adjoa Andoh.

Compere and commere will be: Neil Bartlett and Lois Weaver

The event will be accompanied by a foyer exhibition of posters and flyers from Gay Sweatshop and many other LGBT companies of the period from Bloolips to Hard Corps. The exhibition is free to the public Mon-Sat 10am-6pm.

Tickets £20
