ACTING 101 – CONSENTING ADULTS

Always wanted to give acting a try? This is your chance. Acting 101 will introduce you to the fundamental tools of the acting experience in a fun, supportive, dynamic and empowering atmosphere.

Explore and apply Acting Techniques in a variety of contexts. Develop skills in voice and movement, and explore spontaneity and characterisation. Respond to text, work collaboratively and develop a specific approach in developing your performance skills. Analyse text using Stanislavski method of script analysis, develop your characterisation through a range of improvisation exercises and work on the rehearsal room floor with a range of actors to enhance your ability to work within an ensemble.

Ths workshop is led by international director, devisor and theatre-maker Peter Mountford.

Peter Mountford trained at Bretton Hall (B.A. Hons), specialising in devised theatre, and Central School of Speech & Drama (M.A. Applied Theatre). He has toured throughout the U.K. as a performer with physical theatre company fecund theatre and is artistic director of G.bod Theatre. Directing credits include: Mark Ravenhill’s Citizenship at the Greenwich Theatre and the  musical Pack Up Your Troubles at the  National Theatre ( 4 **** , Lyn Gardner,  The Guardian.) Peter qualified as a teacher from the Institute of Education, London, and has taught drama and acting extensively in the U.K., Malaysia and Sydney, including at Central School of Ballet, London Met University, NIDA, Actors Centre Australia and Newtown High School for Performing Arts.
