Arcola Theatre offers a diverse range of  volunteering opportunities. Due to the high level of interest, we usually offer placements of 3 – 6 months duration and prioritise those who can commit to regular times.

We actively encourage people from all backgrounds to join us – the only prerequisites are to be aged 18+, enthusiastic, friendly, reliable and committed.

 

OPPORTUNITIES:

Front of House: Be the face of Arcola! Front of House volunteers are at the heart of Arcola, helping create  unique experiences for our audiences and ensuring the smooth running of our productions. This can include ushering, box office (with training), Cafe/Bar and a general support.

Time commitment: minimum 2 evenings per month for at least 3 months from 6pm – 11:30pm.

Technical: We are looking for hard working individuals who are passionate about theatre, with a love of problem solving and no fears about getting their hands dirty. Work includes assisting the Production Manager and his technical team with fit ups/get ins, set building, equipment maintenance and more. Electrical knowledge and experience of carpentry/woodwork is desirable as would working with power tools and working at heights.

Time commitment: The Technical Department’s hours vary but we usually consider individuals who can be available evenings until late and weekends.

Arts Administration: Offering support to the Executive Producer with various tasks around the office. This involves script-reading, assisting with theatre hire arrangements and helping with general administrative work.

Creative Learning: Supporting the work of our Youth Theatre and Community companies as well as assisting with the day-to-day administration of the department. A valid CRB check (within 2 years) is preferred.
