**** The Times

A witty and dark piece about human nature and the choices that we may be forced to make at a moment’s notice. A young couple embark on an evening they will never forget.

Three people, one night, four billion dollars.

How far would you go for four billion dollars? Would you give up the love of your life?

"Jaan Tätte’s magical, sly and beguiling play about miracles and money, and the sliver of hope that the two might be compatible…"
"Tätte’s text moves effortlessly from fable to social commentary, off-beat comedy to filmic thriller…Smith directs with a light and witty touch"
"….what makes this play such an absorbing and exciting find is Gary Mackay’s utterly mesmeric Oswald, all twitches and ticks and dusty, cock-eyed poetry… A fascinating, assured introduction to a thrilling theatrical talent."-Time Out

"Gary Mackay as Oswald is a remarkable performance...."
"Faye Hunter and Cal Saville suffer a fascinating dynamic in their onstage relationship ..."
"This well crafted tale deserves a wide audience"   - The Stage

"The Highway Crossing remains resolutely it's own play and boasts a strangely amusing air of menace..."
"The cast's ensemble excellence ..."
"Compulsive gripping theatre"  - South London Press.

This summer sees the first UK production of this play by renowned Estonian writer and actor, Jaan Tätte. Rada graduates, Liisa Smith and Anne Gill, presented the play at The Blue Elephant in June as a graduation piece.

Lyndy Saville of Theatrical Experience became aware of the production and brought it to the Arcola. Impressed by the production, the acting and how the author has very cleverly created a drama where every character is in conflict with each other at some point, which keeps the play driving along. Liisa and Anne have set up StageSpell and will concentrate on new writing. Lyndy Saville will continue to bring different projects, whether they are theatre, concerts or films to an audience.
