The town of Gompers is on a fast-track to despair. The Steel Mill has closed. The town is destitute. And its citizens have lost all faith. But suddenly a golden greyhound appears under a tree, a blue Jesus is spotted walking on the river and a gambling boat is heading their way... Adam Rapp’s exceptional new play, performed by a cast of 10 actors, is an explosive mix of ferocious comedy, gritty sensitivity and bold lyricism.

Adam Rapp is an American playwright, novelist, director and fi lm-maker His plays have been produced and developed by the Steppenwolf Company, New York City’s Public Theatre and Pittsburg City Theatre where Gompers premiered earlier this year. His previous plays include Nocturne (Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding New Script, Burns Mantle Ten Best Plays of 2000-2001), Blackbird (Bush Theatre), Ghosts in the Cottonwoods (Arcola Theatre) and Finer Noble Gases. Adam has a new novel and a fi lm due out this year.
